This season hasn't been kind to the Coleman Comets, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They lost to Merrill at home by a decisive 47-30 margin on Thursday. Coleman lost against Merrill in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 30-25 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Coleman lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maddy Miller. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Sapp, who scored three points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Coleman's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Merrill, their victory was their third straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coleman will be home for the holidays to greet Vestaburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Merrill will be home for the holidays to greet St. Louis at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
