Bruce is a perfect 10-0 against Water Valley since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Trojans will head out to face off against the Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. Bruce is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Bruce will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Shannon on Saturday. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Red Raiders. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Red Raiders: they've now won four in a row.
Bruce got a massive performance out of Leah Clark, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Clark has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Box, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Bruce hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Water Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against J.Z. George, falling 22-9.
Kristaney Reed was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Ryley Hill, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Water Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Bruce, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bruce has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .529. However, it's not like Water Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .440. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bruce got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Water Valley by a conclusive 20-0 score. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
