Softball Recap: Plainfield Wins Going Away Against Whiteland

Plainfield won the last time they faced Whiteland and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Quakers were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Warriors. The Quakers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

Plainfield got a great performance from Sidney Parks as she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Parks has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kenzi Arnett was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kami Arnett, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Plainfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Whiteland only posted a batting average of .167.

The victory made it two in a row for Plainfield and bumps their season record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Whiteland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.

Coming up, Plainfield is taking a road trip to challenge Avon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Whiteland, they will take on Indianapolis Lutheran at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Saints will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
