After four games on the road, Kimball is heading back home. They will take on the Sunset Bison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Kimball is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sunset in Texas (Kimball is ranked 453rd, while Sunset is ranked 1271st).
While it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, Kimball was not quite South Oak Cliff's equal in the second half on Tuesday. Kimball fell just short of South Oak Cliff by a score of 53-50.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Marri Wickware, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Jaylon Dean-Vines was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, even though Lakehill Prep scored an imposing 55 points last Tuesday, Sunset still came out on top. Sunset took their contest against Lakehill Prep 67-55. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sunset.
Kimball has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Sunset, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Everything came up roses for Kimball against Sunset when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 93-35 victory. Will Kimball repeat their success, or does Sunset have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
