Magna Vista extended the longest winning streak in AA Piedmont this week by beating Tunstall, 22-16. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Warriors.
Magna Vista and the Trojans played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Magna Vista eventually emerging with a 22-16 victory.
Tunstall's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Chris Buckner threw for 170 and one touchdown and Damien Wilson had 59 yards receiving. On the ground Jacob Barnette chipped in 55 yards. Evan Huffman helped Tunstall's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 57 yards.
Tunstall's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Buckner has thrown for 910 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Peyton Farrior has 13 catches for 252 yards. Barnette leads the league in rushing with 610 yards.
A big matchup in AA Piedmont this week will be when Martinsville takes on Bassett. The Bulldogs are in third place, while the Bengals are in fourth place.
