Tri-County recap October 1, 2013
Clinton extended the longest winning streak in Tri-County this week by beating Whitmore Lake, 61-27. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Whiteford scaled the state rankings by moving to 129 from 166 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bobcats were able to move up by besting Summerfield 38-13.
Brandt Swindeman was a passing and rushing force as Britton-Macon/Deerfield beat Madison.
Swindeman was a beast in the backfield as the Patriots defeated the Trojans.
Swindeman was the best running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 257 yards as Britton-Macon/Deerfield beat the Trojans. Leighton Merritt also contributed to the rushing game with 167 yards on the ground.
Clinton's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Redskins feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. TJ Baker has thrown for 639 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Sexton has 14 catches for 341 yards.
An important game coming up in Tri-County this week will be when Morenci takes on Scott Mcnitt's team. At the moment, the Bulldogs are in third, while the Redskins are in first.
DJ Lutz's team was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in the league. The Patriots vanquished Madison 45-7 earlier in the week.
