Even though the McMichael Phoenix have not done well against the T.W. Andrews Red Raiders recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. McMichael managed a 55-51 victory over T.W. Andrews. For McMichael, this counts as revenge for the 52-49 loss T.W. Andrews walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
McMichael's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Belcher led the charge by scoring 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Tatum, who scored nine points.
McMichael's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for T.W. Andrews, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McMichael will square off against Reidsville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for T.W. Andrews, they will head out on the road to challenge North Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Forsyth is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
