Softball Recap: Mora Wins Going Away Against Royalton

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Braham, Mora was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Royalton Royals. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Aubrey Athey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits. Athey was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last six matchups.

In other batting news, Rhiannon Ashworth was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Jennae Szucs was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Mora's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Royalton, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home.

Coming up, Mora will welcome East Central at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Royalton, they will head out to take on Osakis at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Royals are facing the Silverstreaks at the right time seeing as the Silverstreaks are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
