Castle View hasn't had much luck against Legend recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Sabercats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Titans at 4:15 p.m. Castle View will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Castle View's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Roaring Fork. Considering the Sabercats have won four games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Castle View got a great performance from Cooper Nason as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Tommy Feldhake and Jace Van Long did most of the damage at the plate: Feldhake went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Van Long scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave Van Long a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Harry, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Castle View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive contests.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Legend and Cherry Creek meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Titans fell 8-5 to the Bruins.
Jacob Fladebo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.
Castle View pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Legend, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-7.
Legend's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Castle View hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. It's a different story for Legend, though, as they've only averaged .248. Will they be able to contain Castle View's hitters?
Castle View took their win against Legend in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 17-1 score. Do the Sabercats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
