Laney Davis was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Kami Silcox, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Lewis Cass was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carroll only posted a batting average of .200.
The win got Lewis Cass back to even at 1-1. As for Caston, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Caston skirted past Lewis Cass 8-7 in their previous matchup back in May of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
