Branham has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Silver Creek Raiders at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Branham knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Silver Creek likes a good challenge.
Even though Independence scored an imposing 38 points on Friday, Branham still came out on top. Branham strolled past Independence with points to spare, taking the game 52-38.
Elias Antillon was his usual excellent self, rushing for 197 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry, and also picking up 76 receiving yards. Antillon was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. Jack Lewis was another key contributor, throwing for 156 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Silver Creek put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. Everything went their way against Gilroy as Silver Creek made off with a 28-7 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Silver Creek just coasted through the last quarter.
Silver Creek relied on the efforts of Alonzo Hernandez, who rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown, and Gabriel Lim, who rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Austin Price got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Branham's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Silver Creek, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Branham strolled past Silver Creek in their previous matchup back in September of 2022 by a score of 43-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Branham since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
