Withrow is 0-4 against Taft since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Withrow Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Taft Senators at 7:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Withrow has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Taft will arrive with four straight wins.
Last Tuesday, Withrow was the victim of a rough 72-52 defeat at the hands of Meadowdale.
The losing side was boosted by Michael Johnson, who scored 26 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Fabian Coker, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, even though Hughes scored an imposing 68 points on Friday, Taft still came out on top. Taft walked away with a 79-68 victory over Hughes. Given Taft's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Hughes is ranked 278th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Withrow has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Taft, they pushed their record up to 12-8 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Withrow couldn't quite finish off Taft in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 and fell 65-62. Will Withrow have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
