Maryville extended the longest winning streak in Midland Empire this week by beating Lafayette, 28-7. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Cameron made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,698 from 3,068. The advance stemmed from a 17-6 victory over Smithville last week.
Matthew McCullough provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Bishop LeBlond lost to Savannah. He completed 9 passes for 89 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 99 yards. McCullough's favorite target this week was Tyler Thrasher, who caught 6 passes for 66 yards.
Drew Cortez put up the best numbers in passing as the Fighting Irish fell to Maryville. He finished with a total of 12 completions for 156 yards and 1 touchdown.
5-foot-10 quarterback Cortez of Lafayette is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,140. He has also thrown 22 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Thrasher. The Bishop LeBlond star has 40 catches for 546 yards.
The Dragons' Joe Pratt is a mere 48 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 175 carries Pratt has accumulated 952 yard this year.
At the moment, the Savages are in second, while robert kustel's team is in fifth.
