Adrian is on a eight-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Tipton is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Adrian Blackhawks will take on the Tipton Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, Adrian was fully in charge, breezing past Cole Camp 55-6 on the road. Given Adrian's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Cole Camp is ranked 275th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Adrian can attribute much of their success to Hunter Bailey, who rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and Colton Miller, who rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Mason Rusow, who picked up 104 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Tipton got themselves on the board against Lone Jack/Kingsville on Thursday, but Lone Jack/Kingsville never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the 50-0 at home.
Their wins bumped Adrian to 8-0 and Tipton to 7-1.
Adrian couldn't quite finish off Tipton in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 and fell 19-16. Will Adrian have more luck at home instead of on the road?
