In what's become a running theme this season, the Giddings Buffaloes gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They never let Smithville onto the board and left with a 6-0 win. Giddings' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six contests.
They hit Smithville with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Makinley Kylberg (2),
Audrey Nicks (2),
Kelby Cowen, and
Jaida Rodea.
Giddings' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-0-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 40 goals over those six matchups. As for Smithville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5-5.
Coincidentally, Giddings and Smithville will both be playing La Grange the next time they take the pitch. Smithville will host La Grange at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Giddings will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
