The Crestview Rebels will square off against the Southeast Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Crestview will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Crestview's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Struthers with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by eight runs or more this season.
The result came thanks to Cassidee Buckley's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Gia Depace was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. She also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Rylee Cloutier, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
Jackson-Milton hit Southeast with a eight-run sixth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pirates fell just short of the Bluejays by a score of 12-11. Even though they lost, the Pirates' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 7 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Bailey Morris and Morgan Muncy stepped up to the plate in a big way. Morris went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Muncy went 1-for-4 with one home run and three runs. Neena Truex was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
This is the second loss in a row for Southeast and nudges their season record down to 2-2. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Crestview, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Crestview has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Southeast struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Crestview couldn't quite get it done against Southeast in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 as they fell 10-7. Will the Rebels have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
