Clatskanie has won six straight games at home, while Knappa has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Tigers will welcome the Loggers at 3:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Knappa's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Clatskanie hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Tigers' pitchers stepped up to hand Vernonia a 19-0 shutout on Friday. The match marked the Tigers' most dominant victory of the season.
Meanwhile, Knappa got the win against Gervais on Wednesday by a conclusive 15-0.
Taylor Pass made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Knappa let Lily Simpson and Mylie Lempea run wild. Simpson went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI, while Lempea went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Lempea has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiya Roe, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Knappa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .808. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Knappa is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Clatskanie, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
Clatskanie might still be hurting after the 20-10 loss they got from Knappa when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
