The Trimble Tomcats will be playing at home against the Federal Hocking Lancers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Trimble will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 628th, while Federal Hocking is ranked 204th).
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Trimble ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Belpre and snuck past 52-50.
Trimble's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rilynn Fouts led the charge by scoring 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Tomlin, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Federal Hocking has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. Their tough 62-41 loss to Marietta on Tuesday might stick with them for a while.
Trimble's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13. As for Federal Hocking, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.
