The Roosevelt Roughriders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 27 points or more this season. They really took it to Ron Brown for the full four quarters, racking up a 81-41 win on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 52-27.
Roosevelt got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sean Hall out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Jamall Price, Jr. was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with three steals.
Roosevelt is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Ron Brown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Coolidge at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Coolidge is ranked eighth, while Roosevelt is ranked ninth). As for Ron Brown, they will head out on the road to face off against Banneker at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Banneker knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Ron Brown likes a good challenge.
