Basketball Game Preview: Central City Value Jaguars vs. Annenberg Panthers

Central City Value is 8-2 against Annenberg since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Central City Value Jaguars challenge the Annenberg Panthers at 2:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Central City Value is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Downtown Magnets on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Central City Value was beaten by Downtown Magnets 74-47. The Jaguars have struggled against the Suns recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Andy Lobos put forth a good effort for the losing side as he almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. His afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Brandon Valencia was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, Central City Value smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Annenberg had to suffer through a 54-27 loss at the hands of Animo Bunche.

Annenberg dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Central City Value, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Central City Value strolled past Annenberg in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 53-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central City Value since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
