The Ste. Genevieve Dragons had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Valle Catholic on Wednesday and snuck past 39-36. This was payback for Ste. Genevieve, who suffered a 38-35 loss the last time these two teams met.
It was another big night for Chloe Staffen, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sadie Greminger, who scored six points.
Ste. Genevieve's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Valle Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.
Ste. Genevieve will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Iron will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Valle Catholic will take on the Black Cats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Missouri (Fredericktown is ranked 236th, while the Warriors are ranked 231st).
