The Cahokia Comanches will head out on the road to face off against the Breese Central Cougars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Cahokia is ranked 120th, while Breese Central is ranked 123rd).
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Cahokia beat O'Fallon 12-7. The victory was just what Cahokia needed coming off of a 28-6 defeat in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cahokia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jramuel Holman, who rushed for 130 yards. Correyontae Midgett was in the mix too, providing Cahokia with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Breese Central put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 42-17 margin over Herrin. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Breese Central just coasted through the last quarter.
Preston Baker went supernova for Breese Central, throwing for 347 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 16.5 yards per attempt. Griffen Becker was another key contributor, picking up 205 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Cahokia now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Breese Central, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
