Softball Recap: Academy at the Lakes Wins Going Away Against Admiral Farragut

Academy at the Lakes got themselves on the board against Admiral Farragut on Thursday, but Admiral Farragut never followed suit. They put the hurt on the BlueJackets with a sharp 15-0 win. The Wildcats have beaten the BlueJackets the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the BlueJackets has come to flipping the script.

Natalie Osborne was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Nola Reilly was a standout: she scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Kiana Wright was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Academy at the Lakes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
