Liberty Center hasn't had much luck against Bryan recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Golden Bears at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Liberty Center will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Wauseon, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Tigers put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 22-16 win on Monday. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Mackenzie Fuller made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and nine unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and one stolen base. Those five runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Bailey Crow was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Kylie Pinson also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.
Liberty Center kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Bryan made easy work of Napoleon on Tuesday and carried off an 8-1 victory. The Golden Bears haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Like Liberty Center, Bryan also got a great game from a two-way player: Thea Staten. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Staten was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Averyann Fisher, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was MacKenzie Blevins, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI.
Bryan's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Liberty Center, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Liberty Center hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. However, it's not like Bryan struggles in that department as they've averaged .341. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Liberty Center came up short against Bryan in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 3-0. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
