Chrisman is 1-6 against Hoopeston since November of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Chrisman Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Hoopeston Cornjerkers at 6:00 p.m. Chrisman has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Tuesday, Chrisman was able to grind out a solid win over Martinsville, taking the game 46-34.
Chrisman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Jones, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Jones scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adaleyn Miller, who scored nine points along with five blocks and two steals.
Meanwhile, Hoopeston came up short against Georgetown-Ridge Farm on Monday and fell 46-35. Hoopeston has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Chrisman's victory bumped their record up to 9-18. As for Hoopeston, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-14.
Chrisman might still be hurting after the 46-20 defeat they got from Hoopeston in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Chrisman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
