Cascade is 2-8 against Forrest since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cascade Champions will be playing at home against the Forrest Rockets at 6:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
After a string of three wins, Cascade's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 62-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grundy County. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the defeat, Cascade saw an underclassman step up: Kaegan Young scored 27 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Young hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Suzanna Crews, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Forrest's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 16th straight loss. They were outmatched by Cannon County at home and fell 65-36. Forrest was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-20.
Cascade's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Forrest, their defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-17.
Everything came up roses for Cascade against Forrest when the teams last played last Tuesday as the squad secured a 58-29 victory. Will Cascade repeat their success, or does Forrest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
