Central Falls proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 30) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Moses Brown 48-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Central Falls has posted yet this season.
Central Falls' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julian Ortiz, who scored 11 points along with five assists and three steals. Ortiz hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Moises Maldonado, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Exeter-West Greenwich's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Prout by a score of 76-74. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Monday (57), Exeter-West Greenwich still had to take the loss.
Central Falls pushed their record up to 7-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Exeter-West Greenwich, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
Everything went Central Falls' way against Exeter-West Greenwich in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as Central Falls made off with a 67-47 victory.
