Volleyball Recap: Rileigh Butler Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Bowie

There's no place like home for Johnson, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bowie Bulldogs on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.

While Johnson might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Bowie scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 20-25, 25-18, 25-18.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Johnson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rileigh Butler, who had 12 digs and six assists. That's the most assists Butler has posted over her last eight games. Jenna Tello was another key player, getting ten digs.

Johnson's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Bowie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

Johnson has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Sotomayor on the 28th. As for Bowie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Schulenburg on the 28th.
