6A Special District 1 recap September 4, 2013
South Eugene moved up to 94 from 138 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 6A Special District 1. The Axemen were able to make move up by beating Churchill 35-14.
Roseburg was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping South Salem. The Indians came in at 17 in the state poll after placing at number 29 last week.
Crater's dynamic duo of Ty Fox and Kory Bennett proved to be unstoppable against Tualatin, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fox threw for 362 yards and 4 touchdowns and Bennett had 185 yards receiving. Dallin George helped Crater's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 81 yards.
The Comets' dynamic duo of Fox and Bennett proved tough for the Timberwolves to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Fox put up the best numbers through the air as Crater fell to Tualatin.
Roy Jackson was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 12 carries, he ran for 74 yards as Thurston lost to Craig Hastin's team. Teammate Logan Tovey added to the ground attack by rushing for 11 yards.
Bennett was the best receiver in the league this week as the Comets lost to the Timberwolves.
He went 24-42 with 4 interceptions.
Gauge Hallett made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Colts fell to Aloha. The 5-foot-11 senior.

Fox has thrown for 362 yards this season, while Bennett, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 10 catches for 185 yards. Jackson from Thurston leads the league in rushing with 74 yards.
Roseburg took down the Saxons 47-21 last week, the largest margin of any game.
