Kofa is 1-9 against Gila Ridge since October of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. Gila Ridge took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Kofa, who comes in off a win.
Kofa took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Somerton 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Kings have posted since September 24, 2024.
Kofa was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 23-25, 14-25, 25-18, 15-12.

Kofa got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Melina Martinez out in front who had 21 assists and two aces. Those two aces gave Martinez a new career-high.
Martinez wasn't the only good servers: Kofa was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. The Kings are 3-1 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Gila Ridge suffered their biggest defeat since September 15th on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to Shadow Ridge. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Stallions recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Gila Ridge was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Shadow Ridge work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-11, 28-26.
Kofa's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Gila Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 19-9.
Kofa might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Gila Ridge in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Kings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
