Basketball Recap: Terry Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Terry unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to the Holmes County Central Jaguars. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Jaguars from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Damarian Harris continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Holmes County Central, going 10-for-14 to rack up 24 points and six boards. Harris is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 55% in the last five games he's played. Jayden Jefferson was another key player, shooting 45% from the field on his way to 17 points.

Terry's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Holmes County Central, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2.

Looking ahead, Terry will be home for the holidays to greet Lanier at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Terry will be up against Lanier's rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.55 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Holmes County Central will wrap up 2025 with a road trip to face off against Gentry at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
