Greensburg is 7-2 against Hauser since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Pirates are taking a road trip to take on the Jets at 5:00 p.m. Greensburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Greensburg barely beat South Dearborn the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pirates put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 11-3 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.
Joey Everroad was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Caleb Greiwe was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Greensburg hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Hauser entered their contest against Lawrenceburg on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Jets came up short against the Tigers, falling 10-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Jets, who until this game were averaging 2.29 runs allowed.
Hauser saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dillion Lambert, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.
Greensburg's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Hauser, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Greensburg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Hauser struggles in that department as they've averaged .318. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Greensburg took their win against Hauser in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
