The Bowie Volunteers will take on the Dallas Jesuit Rangers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Bowie has played have been within five points, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Last Thursday, Bowie and Martin were almost perfectly matched up, but Bowie suffered an agonizing 30-29 defeat. Bowie has struggled against Martin recently, as their contest on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Tavares Duckett, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Duckett really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Keidric Osunde-brown, who picked up 71 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Dallas Jesuit came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Richardson 42-21. The result was nothing new for Dallas Jesuit, who have now won four games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Charlie Peters continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 233 yards and four touchdowns. Henry Bourret was another key contributor, gaining 64 total yards and two touchdowns.
Bowie's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Dallas Jesuit, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as the pair have no problem gaining yardage. Bowie has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 386.8 total yards per game. However, it's not like Dallas Jesuit struggles in that department as they've been even better at 408.7 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them. Bowie was taken down by Dallas Jesuit 35-0 in their previous meeting back in August of 2015. Can Bowie avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
