Having just played yesterday, the Great Falls Red Devils will jump right back in to play the Cambridge Academy Cougars at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Great Falls is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
On Thursday, Great Falls ended up a good deal behind Richard Winn Academy and lost 45-27. While losing is never fun, Great Falls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Richard Winn Academy is ranked 107th).
Cambridge Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 20 points or more this season. They ended the year with a bang, routing Ben Lippen 51-31. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cambridge Academy.
Jillian Mapes continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Cockrell, who scored ten points along with six assists and three steals.
Great Falls' loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-10. As for Cambridge Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
