Baseball Game Preview: Family Community Christian vs. Franklin Parish Patriots

Family Community Christian hasn't had much luck against Franklin Parish recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. Family Community Christian is taking a road trip to challenge Franklin Parish at 1:00 p.m. Family Community Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Franklin Parish's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Family Community Christian not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 10th. Everything went their way against Vidalia as Family Community Christian made off with a 12-6 win. Considering Family Community Christian has won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kyler Roberts made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Family Community Christian got a massive performance out of Gavin Griffing, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave Griffing a new career-high. Eli Cottingham was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Franklin Parish entered their tilt with Family Community Christian on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against Family Community Christian. That's two games straight that the Patriots have won by just one run.

Franklin Parish now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Family Community Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.
