Softball Recap: The Villages Charter Wins Going Away Against Lake Weir

The Villages Charter never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Lake Weir Hurricanes. The result was nothing new for the Buffalo, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Payton Foley was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Lexy Sanchez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Foley wasn't the only one working in the home run department: The Villages Charter lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The Villages Charter is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Lake Weir, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.
