The Thatcher Eagles will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Douglas Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on November 30th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Thatcher earned a 55-43 win over Buena.
Even though Douglas has not done well against Flowing Wells recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Douglas managed a 44-40 win over Flowing Wells. The win made it back-to-back wins for Douglas.
Among those leading the charge was Francia Rubio, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. Scarlette Ruiz was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 3 steals.
The losses dropped Thatcher to 1-3 and Buena to 0-2.
Everything came up roses for Thatcher against Douglas when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 63-36 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Douglas' Karolina Padilla , who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Thatcher to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
