Allen County recap October 29, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Allen County this week, Leo beat Wawasee 35-7. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Lions.
Leo was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating the Warriors. Jared Sauder's team came in at 23 in the state poll after placing at number 40 last week.
Woodlan's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Jaylin Bennett contributed 290 yards.
Bennett was a passing and rushing force as the Warriors bested Central Noble.
Bennett was a force in the backfield as Woodlan topped the Cougars.
Rick Ehle and Bennett gave Sherwood Haydock's team a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Ehle threw for 7 yards and 1 touchdown, while Bennett ran for 290 yards. Teammate Greg White added to the ground attack by rushing for 130 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is White. The Woodlan star has 29 catches for 515 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when South Adams takes on Adams Central. At the moment, the Starfires are in seventh, while the Flying Jets are in fourth.
The Warriors took down Central Noble 57-26 last week, the largest margin of any game. Bennett in the win.
