Sadly, the Buford Yellowjackets are still looking for their first win of the season after 21 contests. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 68-45 walloping at the hands of Central on Friday. Buford found out winning isn't easy when you make six fewer threes than your opponent.
Buford's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Morris, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 44.4% of Buford's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage McManus, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Central was led to victory by Demetrius Myers and Tyson Miller. Myers scored 15 points, while Miller scored 13 points. Tazhir Webber was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Buford dropped their record down to 0-21 with that loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.
Buford will be playing at home against York Prep at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Buford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Friday. As for Central, they will head out on the road to square off against Andrew Jackson at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Averaging 66.35 points so far this season, Andrew Jackson's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Central better be ready for a challenge.
