The Harding Academy Lions will venture away from home to challenge the Houston Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
It was a proper cat-fight when Harding Academy faced off against The Collegiate School of Memphis on Thursday. The Lions lost 4-1 to the Cougars. The contest was a close 2-1 at the break, but unfortunately for Harding Academy it sure didn't stay that way.
Their goal came courtesy of Mason Reed, who's now up to eight this season.
Meanwhile, Houston faced Briarcrest Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Mustangs narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Saints 2-1.
Houston pushed their record up to 7-1-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for Harding Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-1.
Harding Academy might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Houston when the teams last played back in April of 2017. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
