Two dominant backs in AJ Ezell and Kamore Harris are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Clarke County Bulldogs will square off against the Comer Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Clarke County rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 22-15 victory over the Eagles. The score was all tied up 8-8 at the break, but Clarke County was the better team in the second half.
It was another big night for Ezell, who rushed for 205 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Comer put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Highland Home by a score of 21-14.
Harris continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 215 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.4 yards per carry. Harris was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.
Their wins bumped Clarke County to 7-5 and Goshen to 9-3.
Friday's match might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Clarke County has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 252.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Comer struggles in that department as they've been averaging 249.1 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Clarke County was able to grind out a solid win over Comer in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, winning 14-7. Does Clarke County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Comer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
