The Southwest Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Ferguson Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest will be strutting in after a victory while Ferguson will be coming in after a loss.
Southwest had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Southridge on Thursday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Spartans. The Eagles not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 22nd (when they won 3-0).
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-11, 25-12.

Southwest's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ariana Blanco, who had seven aces and three digs, and Jaslyn Figueroa, who had five digs and four aces. Those five digs gave Figueroa a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Ferguson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to Coral Reef. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Barracudas 25-12 in the first set.
Ferguson started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 12-25, 25-5, 25-20, 25-23.
Southwest will have to keep a close watch on Katie Aguirre and Samantha Olivia, a pair of players who had a big impact on Ferguson's prior game. Aguirre had 33 digs and three assists, while Olivia had 13 assists and seven digs. Denisse Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.
Ferguson now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Southwest, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-13 record this season.
Southwest might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Ferguson in their previous meeting two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Olivia, who had ten digs, two aces, and one block. Now that the Eagles know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
