Basketball Recap: Stockton Extends Winning Streak to Four

Stockton entered their tilt with Dakota on Monday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They secured a 45-39 W over the Dakota Indians. That's more bragging rights for the Blackhawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the loss, Dakota saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hailey Kerchner posted eight points in addition to seven boards and four steals. That's the most steals Kerchner has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Cora Ingram, who had 11 points.

Stockton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points per game. As for Dakota, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Stockton will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Erie-Prophetstown at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th. Dakota will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Durand at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th.
