It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Woodland Cougars had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Demons, posting a 48-6 win at home. Woodland might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won nine games by 20 points or more this season.
Among those leading the charge was Dray Long, who rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Bennett, who threw for 110 yards and two touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes.
When it comes to explaining why Dibble lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jag Norman. Despite the final result, he rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown. Norman is absolutely dominating the rushing yard category: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season.
Woodland has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 12-1 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.9 points per game. As for Dibble, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.
Woodland will face off against Fairview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairview will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Dibble does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
