Delmarva Christian will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against St. Michaels on Friday. Delmarva Christian blew past St. Michaels 14-7.
Taylor Lowe and Kylie McCabe were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Lowe struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, McCabe pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. At bat, Lowe scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while McCabe scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Bella Marinelli and Kaelyn McGuinness did most of the damage at the plate: Marinelli scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while McGuinness scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Sells, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.
Delmarva Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Michaels only posted an OBP of .421.
Meanwhile, Cape Henlopen put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on William Penn with a sharp 23-1 victory. Fans of the Vikings have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Like Delmarva Christian, Cape Henlopen also got a great game from a pair of two-way players: Tegan Baker. Throwing, Baker pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Abby Marsh struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Baker went a perfect 1-for-1 with four runs and one triple, while Marsh went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most hits Marsh has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Cape Henlopen let Alivia Heers and Ava Calciano run wild. Heers got on base in all six of her plate appearances with five RBI, two doubles, and one triple, while Calciano scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. That's the most RBI Heers has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jordynn Bowe, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Cape Henlopen's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Delmarva Christian, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
