If Wilson were riding high off their 40-6 takedown of Central last Friday, that ride came to an abrupt end. Wilson took a hard 12-28 fall against Empire. Wilson are ranked 168th in the MaxPreps national rankings (265 spots ahead of Empire), so the loss was all the more frustrating.
The defeat dropped Wilson's record to 6-2. The win got Empire back to even at 4-4.
It's more conference action for Wilson and Empire in their upcoming matches. Wilson will square off against Ryan at 7:30 PM next week. Wilson's defense better steel itself: Ryan are averaging 42.75 points per game. As for Empire, they will face off against Central. Central took a loss in their last match and are no doubt out to reverse Empire's good fortune.
