Gila Bend was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after a bye. The Gila Monsters came in at 23 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
Salome made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 367 from 530. The improvement came about via a 60-27 victory over Mesa Prep last week.
5-foot-9 quarterback Matthew Martinez of Rancho Solano Prep is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1897. He has also thrown 27 touchdowns. On the ground, Salt River's Daniel Lopez has rushed for 1307 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Matt Munsil. The Scottsdale Preparatory Academy star has 58 catches for 1171 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Scottsdale Preparatory Academy and Valley Lutheran. The Spartans enters the game ranked second in the state, while the Flames ranks seventh.
In 149 carries Lorenzo Ruiz has accumulated 996 yard this year.
