The Springstead Eagles won the last time they faced the Lecanto Panthers, and things went their way on Friday too. Springstead managed a 27-21 victory over Lecanto.
Among those leading the charge was Connor Mccazzio, who rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Mccazzio was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards.
Lecanto's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Delonzo Wasington, who rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Moore, who rushed for 82 yards on only ten carries.
Springstead is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Lecanto, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Springstead will face off against Wiregrass Ranch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wiregrass Ranch will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Lecanto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
