The North Salinas Vikings's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They ended the year with a bang, routing Pajaro Valley 62-36. With that victory, North Salinas brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.
North Salinas found their leader in underclassman Andre Lizaola, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Lizaola pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Lizaola, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
North Salinas' victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Pajaro Valley, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
North Salinas will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Greenfield at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Greenfield comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Pajaro Valley, they will be playing at home against Monte Vista Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monte Vista Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pajaro Valley in California (Monte Vista Christian is ranked 495th, while Pajaro Valley is ranked 1211th).
