Baseball Recap: Mountain Crest Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Ridgeline

Mountain Crest faced Ridgeline in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Mustangs took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverhawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Riverhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-3 on Monday.

Mountain Crest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Nielsen, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Mountain Crest and nudges their season record down to 11-5. As for Ridgeline, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-4.

Mountain Crest has already played their next matchup, a 4-3 loss against West Field on the 18th. As for Ridgeline, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-0 victory against Sky View on the 19th.
